On the colorful streets of bushwick brooklyn, Ionoscope stands as a testament to the power of creative synergy and vision. The result of the collaborative efforts of two distinct talents — Gene Michael Bradley and Julia Pearl Robbins — their parallel interests and unique mastery fuel innovation and design for narrative, documentary, and conceptual filmworks.
Gene's expertise in cinematography and battery/light engineering, combined with Julia's theoretical knowledge and keen eye for photography, form the foundation of their content lab. With a shared passion for the sciences, exploration, and the world of aesthetics, they have both worked on numerous projects throughout far corners of the United States, Europe, Africa, South America, India, and Australasia. Despite their differing sensitivities and approaches, shared curiosities and interests inspired many long conversations and local adventures throughout the Covid-19 lockdown 2021. Julia's unique articulations and conclusions impressed Gene, who was prompted to suggest they start working together. It was an easy decision for Julia, who was already an enthusiast of Gene's light sculptures, customized shooting equipment, and vast archive of footage.
Their work within Ionoscope has been a true meeting of minds, with each half bringing their unique strengths and sensibilities to the table — a partnership of two equals— living the dream as they bring their creative vision to life.
